Product technical statement
PlyPlay™ is designed for wall and ceiling lining, joinery and furniture in residential and commercial applications, excluding high-humidity situations. It is a low-formaldehyde plywood, manufactured from sustainably grown plantation pine and birch.

Installation
PlyPlay can be installed using a variety of fastening and fixing methods depending on the desired finish. General fixing techniques include: nailing, screwing and gluing; battens and skirtings to cover joints; proprietary systems such as Stickman and Fastmount; decorative mechanical fasteners; negative detailing; and fixings for non-bracing walls and ceilings.
The panel edges and back are sealed, which promotes stability and also assists installation when using double-sided tape. And when delivered to site, the coated faces are supplied with removable protective film. View our installation guide.
Appearance & colour variation
PlyPlay panels are manufactured from natural timber substrates, and variation in colour tone, grain and surface character is an inherent feature of the material. Differences in shade and texture may occur between panels, including those from the same production batch, and are considered part of the product’s natural aesthetic rather than a defect.
At installation, some contrast between panels may be visible. With continued exposure to light, particularly UV, the surface colour will gradually adjust, helping to reduce variation and create a more consistent appearance over time. The rate of this change will depend on environmental conditions, and for best results, panels should be inspected and arranged prior to installation to achieve a balanced visual outcome.
Maintenance
We recommend cleaning PlyPlay panels when required with a warm, damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid using solvents or abrasive cleaners.

When used as part of building work — and installed in accordance with the PlyPlay installation instructions — PlyPlay meets, or contributes to meeting, the following building code clauses:

Environmental
Using low-formaldehyde plywood and sustainably sourced timbers, and with no VOCs from the coating process, PlyPlay contributes to a building’s sustainability credentials.
Where PlyPlay can be used
PlyPlay is in Material Group 3. For the full and latest compliance information, refer to NZBC and C/AS2 for details and also for exceptions for particular buildings and use in areas under 5m2.
Note: these requirements do not apply to PlyPlay used in detached dwellings, within household units in multi-unit dwellings, or outbuildings and ancillary buildings.
